AFC Bournemouth missed out on the chance to return to the top of the Championship after suffering a 3-2 defeat at Derby County on Sunday.

Fulham’s 4-1 win over Barnsley on Saturday had seen Scott Parker’s former club displace the Cherries from the summit.

And although Jason Knight headed the Rams into a 13th-minute lead, finely-taken goals by Jaidon Anthony and Dominic Solanke had the visitors in front at the break.

But Tom Lawrence’s superb goal made it 2-2 after 62 minutes before the Derby captain netted the winner from the penalty spot after Jack Stacey had been judged to have fouled Graeme Shinnie.

Headers from Phil Billing and Ryan Christie in the closing stages both cleared the woodwork, while an effort from Gavin Kilkenny was saved by Rams goalkeeper Kelle Roos.
