Junior Stanislas was on target as AFC Bournemouth rounded off their pre-season games programme with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad at Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Stanislas came off the bench and applied a composed finish to a first-time pass from fellow substitute Kieffer Moore nine minutes from time.

His goal halved the deficit for the Cherries with the La Liga outfit having forged 2-0 ahead thanks to goals either side of half-time from Spain international Mikel Merino and Igor Zubeldia.

Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro ensured his team would reach the break leading through Merino’s ninth-minute opener with the Cherries having the better chances in the first half.

Remiro blocked two efforts from Dom Solanke and smothered a Jaidon Anthony strike before Zubeldia doubled the visitors’ lead in the 56th minute.

It was the Cherries’ final game of pre-season before they host Aston Villa in their Premier League curtain-raiser on 6th August.
