AFC Bournemouth were delighted to host a series of activities at Vitality Stadium for World Mental Health Day earlier this week.
60 children from up to six secondary schools were invited in, with community partners, JP Morgan, proudly supporting the event.
Recruitment firm, Tru Talent, who sponsor the Mental Health and Wellbeing project run in local schools by the Community Sports Trust, were also in attendance.
JP Morgan kicked off the afternoon with a mental health magic ice breaker, before the club’s Head of Community, Steve Cuss, delivered a workshop.
The children interacted on their table and were presented with different scenarios which focused on wellbeing and mental health.
Following an afternoon of hard work, Cherries goalkeeper Neto then surprised the participants at Vitality Stadium and spoke to the pupils about the importance of mental health.
He was also on hand to take part in a question and answer session, where topics ranged from his time at Barcelona to life at Vitality Stadium.
In addition to the event at the stadium, there are also 30 mental health workshops being delivered to pupils in local schools across the course of the next two weeks.
