AFC Bournemouth
This April, Community Sports Trust coaches visited Brisbane, Australia for an eleven-day tour working with partners Gregory Terrace School, St Joseph’s College.
The Cherries had welcomed a touring group over to Bournemouth back in December as part of the on-going partnership, which began in 2016.
The 2024 trip saw the community coaches delivery two three-day Soccer Clinics working with over 200 children and young people from Gregory Terrace and the wider community.
The children were engaged in coaching development sessions for the first two days, before one day of game-based activity.
Alongside this, the community coaches also worked with Gregory Terrace's first team, the under-19s, and put the players through their paces with some crossing and finishing drills.
Following the Soccer Camps, the Community Sports Trust coaches spent time attending local football tournaments, supporting the Terrace teams who were in action, as well as watching their Saturday games and seeing all teams in action from the under-10s to the under-19s.
One final part of the trip also saw the Community coaches work with local football club Brisbane City, where they delivered a Coaches CPD session, followed by a session for the club’s under-13 and under-14 players.
Summarising another fantastic trip, Head of Community Steve Cuss told afcb.co.uk: “We were delighted to continue our partnership with Gregory Terrace school, as our coaches supported Soccer Camps and workshop delivery.
“We look forward to continuing the good work and partnership in Brisbane, Australia.”
