Pablo De La Torre

Position:
First Team
Nationality:
Spanish
Previous clubs:
Rayo Vallecano

Pablo de la Torre reunited with Andoni Iraola when he joined AFC Bournemouth as first-team fitness coach ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season.

De la Torre worked with Iraola at his former clubs Rayo Vallecano in Spain and AEK Larnaca in Cyprus.

Born in Cuenca, a beautiful city in central Spain, de la Torre started his career at local club UB Conquense, playing his part as their youth team progressed through the leagues and locked horns with the likes of Valencia, Villarreal and Levante.

He then spent 12 months with Armenian Premier League club Banants, winning the Armenian Cup in 2016 and reaching the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.

De la Torre returned to Spain and spent two seasons with UD Almería and CD Mirandés, winning Segunda Division B in 2017/18, only to miss out on promotion after losing to Mallorca in a play-off.

He linked up for the first time with Iraola at AEK Larnaca, the club reaching the group stages of the Europa League, winning the Cypriot Super Cup and finishing as runners-up to APOEL in the Cypriot top flight in 2018/19.

Following a year with Valencia CF, de la Torre again teamed up with Iraola at Rayo Vallecano ahead of the start of the 2020/21 season.

In their first season, the club beat Girona in the Segunda División play-off final to win promotion to La Liga.

They held their own and secured a mid-table finish in 2021/22 and also reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.

Iraola’s Vallecano spent much of 2022/23 challenging for a European place, eventually finishing 11th.
