AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth maintained their 100 per cent winning start in the National League by recording a 7-1 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Moneyfields on Wednesday.

Gemma McGuinness bagged a 14-minute hat-trick in the first half, while Lucy Cooper was also on target twice as the Cherries reached half-time leading 6-1.

Skipper Gemma Hillier also got her name on the scoresheet in the opening 45 minutes, while Abby Jones netted early in the second half to complete the scoring.

McGuinness took her personal goal tally for the season to ten, Cooper's double came on the eve of her 18th birthday, while Jones's strike was her first of the season.

A seventh league win in succession saw the Cherries preserve their three-point lead at the top of the table with second-placed Exeter City beating Portishead 5-0 to make it six victories on the spin.

The result and performance capped an excellent day for Steve Cuss’s team after it was announced that more than 4,000 tickets had been sold for their Vitality Stadium clash against Portishead on Sunday 5th November.
