AFC Bournemouth partners with Her Game Too as women’s team make maiden Vitality Stadium appearance.

AFC Bournemouth is continuing its drive for equality and inclusivity in football by partnering with the Her Game Too movement.

The collaboration was announced ahead of AFC Bournemouth Women’s first competitive match at Vitality Stadium against Chesham United on Sunday 10 April.

As part of the partnership, the club and Community Sports Trust will work alongside Her Game Too to develop the club’s existing work to help stamp out sexist abuse and create a welcoming atmosphere for women at both home and away matches.

Founded by 12 passionate female football fans, Her Game Too is committed to helping foster an ethos in the game in which women are welcomed and respected equally.

The non-profit organisation launched to acclaim in May 2021, with a thoughtful promotional film that trended on social media in the build-up to the Emirates FA Cup Final and has gained more than one million views.

Liz Finney, AFC Bournemouth Operations Director, said: “We are an inclusive club with equality and diversity at the heart of everything we do. This partnership – announced on an historic day for our women’s team – forms a key part of our work in this area. We are now looking forward to working with Her Game Too, our staff and supporters to build on our existing work to make football a sport in which women feel welcomed and respected.”

Amy Clement, co-founder of Her Game Too, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that AFC Bournemouth are now a partner of Her Game Too. We are excited to work with the club to ensure female fans, staff and players feel supported and welcomed into an inclusive environment. It's so exciting that the ladies are playing at Vitality Stadium this weekend and we wish them, and the men, all the best for the rest of the season!'
