Morgan signs professional contract

The youngster, who has featured with the development squad this campaign, commits his future to the Cherries.

He joined the club in 2016, having spent time in West Ham's academy, and is a talented two-footed full-back, who can play on each flank. 

Speaking to afcb.co.uk, Morgan revealed his pride: “I’m over the moon! I’ve been here since the under-10s and it wasn’t something I was really thinking about, I was just focused on my next contract.

“When I got my scholarship, it was such a proud moment for me and my family and I was just focused on settling in and getting as many games as possible.

“I got the most out of a first year as I could really, playing at the stadium with the under-21s and getting FA Youth Cup experience and it was so valuable for me. Getting an early professional contract is something that I’m over the moon about really.”

The news caps off a brilliant start to the season for Morgan, who completed pre-season with Alan Connell’s development squad as well as being named skipper for the under-18s squad.

He continued: “I went to France with the under-21s, which was such a great experience for me, spending a week away from home in another country with the older group, so that was valuable.

“Being named captain of the under-18s wasn’t something I was expecting as I’m not the loudest person, but I’m very proud and I’m working hard to be the best captain I can!

“It shows the faith they have in me so I’ve got to repay them by working as hard as I can in training and in games. Being here for so long, I know what the club expects and when I come in each day, I know what it takes to represent the club. Hard work does pay off!”
