AFC Bournemouth captain Neto couldn’t hide his disappointment following the defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
A double by Eberechi Eze secured a victory for the home side at Selhurst Park and the Cherries goalkeeper didn’t believe the performance warranted a better result.
Speaking to Premier League Productions after the game, he said: “We’re frustrated by the result. We wanted to win this game, it was very important for us but I think we didn’t deserve it.
“By our interpretation, it wasn’t our right to win the game and we have to keep going. That’s football and we have to move on.”
The Cherries are currently sat on 39 points with either a defeat for Everton at Manchester City on Sunday or Leicester City failing to beat Liverpool on Monday enough to confirm Premier League survival.
Neto doesn’t want his side to let up with Manchester United and Everton still to play in the 2022/23 campaign.
He added: “I think 40 points is the number for everybody at the beginning of the season and when the games happen, maybe you don’t need the 40 points.
“Our goal and objective is 40 points and we have two difficult games in the next weeks and we have to mentalise the right way to keep going and go win those games.”
