Earlier this month, two local schools represented AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League Primary Stars tournament.

The under-11 boys from Longfleet Primary School and under-11 girls from Kingsleigh Primary School visited Elland Road for the annual Premier League event.

The two schools saw off competition in local tournament events, hosted by the Community Sports Trust toward the end of 2022. Their reward was the opportunity to take part in the national final of the competition.

Playing on the pitch at Leeds United, the group stages saw both schools face others representing clubs including Newcastle United, Manchester United, Everton and Leicester City.

Speaking after the event, Head of Community Steve Cuss spoke with afcb.co.uk: “We had another enjoyable year taking part in the Premier League Primary Stars schools tournament.

“The opportunity for local schools to represent AFC Bournemouth and travel to other football clubs in the country is something we look forward to every season.

“Whilst neither team progressed out of the group stages, they still relished the opportunity to play in a fantastic stadium and all were great ambassadors for both their schools and AFC Bournemouth.”
