Scadding and Clark take academy beach soccer session

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Beach soccer players and AFC Bournemouth duo, Molly Clark and Katie Scadding, hosted a special training session with the academy's under-11s ahead of their UK Beach Fest tournament.

The young group trained for 90 minutes on the sand, with the two Cherries players sharing their tips whilst teaching the boys the rules and adaptations to Beach Soccer.

The group worked through dribbling drills, learnt how to move the ball across the sand and got some quick footwork in as the boys were put through their paces.

Molly Clark, World Player of the Year in 2021, helped to coach the boys through a bicycle kick and got involved showing off her own skills too.

The UK Beach Fest tournament saw the academy lads play their counterparts from Chelsea, Southampton and Brighton. Their hard work and excellent play saw them make the final, where they were defeated by Southampton.

Speaking about the unique session, Head of Community Steve Cuss told afcb.co.uk: “It was a fantastic opportunity to be working with the academy in preparing the under-11s for their pre-season beach competition.

“Katie and Molly, who have both enjoyed great success on the sand with England, gave expert coaching advice and tips throughout the session.”
