Ex-AFC Bournemouth captain and current Community Sports Trust Youth Engagement Coordinator, Ian Cox, will be travelling to Thailand to represent England in the Seniors World Cup.
The tournament, which was introduced by the Senior Football Association of Thailand to promote the country following the Tsunami, has become an annual event which has seen 18 countries invited to compete over the past 11 years.
The five-day competition will see England looking to win the tournament for a record sixth time, competing against opponents including Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Indonesia and Canada.
Cox will fly out to Thailand at the end of the month for a three-day training camp and friendly in Pattaya, before moving to the tournament location in the Chonburi province ahead of the tournament starting on 5th June.
After three days of group fixtures, the squad will take part in Football for the Kids, which is a day dedicated to giving something back to the community.
The squad will visit local schools, one of which will have spent time learning anthems to support the England squad at their matches. The players will take part in coaching sessions and activities with the children, and Cox will take with him a donation of AFC Bournemouth kit to make to the children.
The tournament will run from 5th-10th June, with all matches being played at Chonburi FC Stadium and the Suzuki Stadium in Si Racha.
