AFC Bournemouth's Community Sports Trust have been delivering Talent ID sessions in partnership with the FA and EFL to help identify future footballers.

Throughout July, the Community Sports Trust hosted two specific events in Bournemouth and Weymouth, working with 40 girls.

The first event, saw pupils from Glenmoor School visit Vitality Stadium for a tour and coaching session. The school pupils had an exclusive look behind the scenes at the Premier League ground, delivered by women’s team manager Steve Cuss, as well as taking part in their own coaching session on the stadium's 3G pitches.

Following their session, the pupils also took part in a question-and-answer activity with AFC Bournemouth women's defender, Abby Jones.

The second event saw the community coaches visit Redlands Community Hub, where students from Thomas Hardye School and Budmouth School were in attendance for a football festival.

The players took part in a variety of technical practices before a series of small-sided matches.

Head of Community and women's first team manager, Steve Cuss, spoke with afcb.co.uk about the event: “We continue to offer opportunities to as many players as possible.”

“The ID days, working with schools were very successful and enjoyable for staff and players, whilst highlighting the pathway available.”
