Ability Counts side in action

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The AFC Bournemouth Ability Counts teams have recently been in action, with all the sides playing their most recent Hampshire League fixtures. The under-12 and under-16 teams played their games a week ahead of the seniors, who have also been representing the Cherries in the FA People’s Cup.

Under-12s

AFC Bournemouth Reds put in some good performances across the day, with their goalkeeper making some excellent saves throughout. Luke Stroud, who made his debut in the last round of fixtures, also performed well and scored his second goal of the season to ensure his team picked up three points.

The AFC Bournemouth Cherries team picked up a brilliant 1-0 win against Hamble Club Youth Blue, with Alfie Gibbs rounding off an excellent team performance with a well-taken goal.

Under-16s

There was more excellent performances and results for the under-16 teams.

AFC Bournemouth Reds started their day with an excellent 6-0 win over Eastleigh FC, before going on to win 2-1 against Fawley Falcons.

AFC Bournemouth Blacks unfortunately started with a loss to Fawley Falcons but were then able to go on to win 3-1 against Eastleigh FC, with Grant Middlewick scoring two and Lewis Mitchell one.

Seniors

The following weekend, AFC Bournemouth’s five senior teams travelled to Toynbee School for their next round of league fixtures.

AFC Bournemouth Reds earned the full nine points across their three fixtures, with Cameron Smith scoring four goals throughout the afternoon.

Unfortunately, AFC Bournemouth Blacks were not able to pick up any points during the day and were unlucky to not get anything from a 2-1 defeat to Streets Ahead, where they put in an excellent team performance.

Peter Kelly and Charlie Hoskins have developed an impressive strike partnership for AFC Bournemouth Stripes. Their eight goals helped the team to one win and a draw, losing just once all day.

In the participation league, the AFC Bournemouth Stars enjoyed a brilliant day where they won all four games, with every player getting on the scoresheet. Tommy Truong scored his first goal for the team in their new league in the second fixture of the day, before going on to score another just two games later. James Read also scored his first goal at Senior level during the final game of the day against College FC.
