AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust and J.P. Morgan have agreed a 24-month extension to their partnership, following a successful 12 months of working together.

Throughout the partnership, the organisations intend to run collaborative initiatives to support the local community in line with a number of focus areas, including mental health, diversity, equality and inclusion, and homelessness.

This follows the success of the Bounce Back project, a project based at Vitality Stadium supporting vulnerable adults to achieve independence through both classroom and physical activity sessions.

The project made such an impact in the local community that HRH Prince William and entrepreneur Steven Bartlett visited Vitality Stadium this month as they highlighted projects focused on ending homelessness in the local community.

As part of the renewed partnership, the two organisations will adapt the Bounce Back project to expand support to a wider audience and provide more holistic support in a new initiative called Lift Off.

The initiative will aim to help people within the local community with education and support in order to get into the workplace, with a number of workshops and classes focused on personal development and workplace readiness.

In addition to our chosen themes, the two organisations will continue to support one another on adhoc community engagement initiatives, including litter picks and social events for local older people.

If any community organisation would like to find out more about the partnership and how they can get involved, please get in touch at [email protected].

Steve Cuss, head of Community Sports Trust, said: “We’re delighted to be working with J.P. Morgan for a further 18 months and continuing the good work that we’ve done.

“The Bounce Back project was a major success and has had a huge impact within the local community and through the new Lift Off initiative, we’re sure we can help even more people.”

Hannah Elson, Bournemouth Community Senior Sponsor at J.P. Morgan, added: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the Community Sports Trust for a further two years and continue the momentum we have made in supporting the needs of our local community.

“We look forward to engaging with many other local organisations and bringing the power of sport to our shared goals of education, health, participation and inclusion.”
