Title: Casual Academy Scout

Reports to: Academy Head of Recruitment

Location: 1 x North Dorset, 1 x West Dorset & 1 x Portsmouth

Although the academy are targeting the above areas, if individuals reside outside of these specific areas but are living in the Dorset or Hampshire area and are interested in a Casual Academy Scout position, please confirm interest by getting in touch.

About AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth is a family and community club. We strive to deliver a professional, friendly and welcoming approach in all areas of the club. With a small backroom operation, you will be joining a tight-knit group who pride themselves on hard work, passion, and togetherness.

Main duties

To attend fixtures in order to assist with the successful identification and recruitment of individuals for the academy, pre-academy and junior training centre.

  • To attend training sessions, fixtures and tournaments on behalf of AFC Bournemouth academy.
  • To complete and keep an up-to-date record of fixtures attended and player reports via the PMA.
  • To create a network of contacts within grassroots football throughout the clubs catchment area.
  • To establish a firm understanding of existing academy players to gauge appropriate benchmarks.
  • To act and conduct yourself in a manner appropriate to a representative of AFC Bournemouth.
  • To be available for all CPD and staff meetings as required by the Head of Academy Recruitment.

General

  • As a casual worker you must adhere to the club’s safeguarding policies and procedures and are committed to our safeguarding values, creating a safe and positive environment for all those who interact with the club.
  • Obligation to adhere to the club’s health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Actively promote the club’s equality policies and practices to ensure a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for everyone engaged with the club.

Key competencies 

Required qualifications: 

  • FA Level 1 in Talent Identification
  • Involvement in youth football
  • Valid DBS
  • Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • Full Valid Driving License
  • Computer literate

Desired qualifications: 

  • FA Level 2 in Talent Identification
  • Scouting  and recruitment experience
  • Academy experience
