AFC Bournemouth players Steve Cook and Lewis Cook have joined forces to donate Christmas-style hampers to vulnerable families in the community.
20 food packages have been delivered to families in the local area across Christmas Eve on behalf of the duo.
Each hamper contains: Stuffed whole chickens, apricot and chestnut stuffing, gratin potatoes, honey-roast carrots and parsnip, Brussels sprouts, mixed green vegetables, red wine gravy, Yorkshire puddings, Christmas puddings, vanilla custard and mince pies.
The hampers were put together by first-team chef Ese Kousin and reached the community via head of community, Steve Cuss.
Steve Cook told afcb.co.uk: “It’s been another really tough year for so many families so Lewis and I wanted to make a small gesture to hopefully brighten a few Christmases.
‘As footballers, we’re in really fortunate positions and it’s the least we can do to give back to those in an area that has given us so many incredible memories.
“I want to thank Ese Kousin and Steve Cuss for their support in helping get these food packages to 20 families in need.”
Lewis Cook added: “It’s very much Steve’s idea, it’s something he’s done before. We spoke about it, and it was something I wanted to be part of.
“The main thing is about helping less fortunate families on Christmas, who unfortunately don’t have the resources to have a proper Christmas dinner. We just wanted to help a small number of people have a better Christmas.
“I have to thank Ese Kousin and Steve Cuss for their support. We have funded the hampers but it’s very much those two who have ensured they’ve reached the people that need them, without them we couldn’t do it.”
