AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth is committed to providing an environment in which everyone is able to enjoy watching all its teams.

Whilst the vast majority of our supporters show their passion for supporting AFC Bournemouth in the correct way, the behaviour of a small number of fans can have a huge effect on the matchday experience of a wide range of people.

The Policy, introduced in early November, will be used as a guidance for instances whereby banning orders and suspensions have to be issued. The policy offers guidance for how and when such sanctions will occur.

Cautions, temporary or full club banning orders are dependent on the infringement and whether a supporter has been subject to a matchday disciplinary process before.

To date this season, at home and away games, 19 supporters have been issued warning letters, 14 have been refused entry and nine have been ejected from a home or away stadium. In addition, five supporters have been arrested and three supporters are currently under investigation.

45% of supporters who have been sanctioned as detailed above, have been involved in incidents at away grounds. At Vitality Stadium, 35% of reported incident have been within the Steve Fletcher North Stand.

To date this season, 46% of supporters who have been sanctioned has arisen from a breach in ground regulations, whilst 24% have been for discrimination or offensive language.

The club have also developed a fan education programme and club conduct contract. These will sit alongside the sanctions policy and place a larger emphasis on education and changing behaviours that can mitigate away from a club ban.

We continue to encourage supporters to assist the club by report any incidents of discriminatory, abusive or unacceptable behaviour at Vitality Stadium by:

  • Reporting any incident to a steward on the day
  • Texting our confidential matchday reporting line: 07827312697
  • Confidentially email [email protected] with evidence of online hate

The power of football, sport and community is strong, and we want to give anyone who wants to share our club the opportunity to do so without barriers.
