Chloe Gilroy led the way with a four-timer as AFC Bournemouth registered an 18-0 win over National League counterparts Selsey at Ringwood Community Hub on Sunday.

Erin Bloomfield, Alisha Buckingham and Kelci Bowers added hat-tricks, while Lucy Cooper scored twice as the Cherries maintained their unbeaten record in Division One South West.

The Cherries reached the break leading 7-0 thanks to Cooper’s double and goals from Molly Barron-Clark, Gemma McGuinness, Bloomfield, Maisy Smith and Gilroy.

Gilroy netted a further three after the break and Bloomfield and Bowers completed their hat-tricks as Steve Cuss’s team eased past the struggling Seals whose goalkeeper Julia Cropper made a series of fine saves.

Bloomfield’s header from Barron-Clark’s cross was cleared off the line and Gilroy’s effort soared over the crossbar as the Cherries made a fast start.

And Barron-Clark opened the scoring with a trademark thunderous drive from 25 yards after four minutes, her seventh goal in the past five games.

McGuinness quickly doubled the hosts’ lead when she fastened on to a cross from Kelci Bowers before firing past Seals goalkeeper Julia Cropper on nine minutes.

Cropper saved with her knee after Barron-Clark had again let fly from distance before Bloomfield added the Cherries’ third, the striker converting after Bowers had picked her out.

Another smart save from Cropper denied Bloomfield a second before Cooper assisted for Smith and then scored herself as the Cherries netted twice in quick succession.

Firstly, Smith was on hand to prod home at the far post after Cooper’s centre had found her before the young striker finished with accuracy into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Bloomfield hit the crossbar after seizing on a stray clearance from Cropper but Gilroy reacted quickest and converted the rebound to make it 6-0 on 27 minutes.

Cropper allowed Cooper’s long-range drive to slip through her grasp as the Cherries added a seventh after 31 minutes, the goalkeeper then making a top-drawer save to beat away Barron-Clark’s venomous drive.

And the Seals goalkeeper then kept out Bloomfield’s ripsnorter before standing firm to parry Gilroy’s header from point-blank range.

Gilroy added her second and the Cherries’ eighth when she swept home the ball from close range after substitutes Alisha Buckingham and Kenni Thompson had linked up to create the opening early in the second half.

And Gilroy quickly completed her hat-trick when she arrived to meet Bowers’s inviting cross with a firm header from inside the six-yard box after 51 minutes.

Cropper showed great reactions to parry Bloomfield’s snapshot at her near post and stood tall to keep out another effort after the Cherries striker had burst through.

However, Bloomfield would not be denied on 70 minutes, the striker finishing from close range after Gilroy had helped on Thompson’s cross.

Thompson was again in the thick of the action as the Cherries made it 11-0 just a minute later, her pinpoint cross converted by Buckingham.

Bowers added her name to the scoresheet when she lifted her shot over Cropper after 73 minutes before Katie James hit the crossbar from Thompson’s corner.

Bloomfield completed her treble 12 minutes from time when she turned sharply and netted from close range following a frantic goalmouth scramble.

As the goals continued to come, Buckingham’s assured finish from around 12 yards made it 14-0 before Gilroy’s emphatic strike made it 15-0 seven minutes from time.

Bowers netted twice late on to complete her hat-trick, her double sandwiching a strike from Buckingham which saw her complete her treble.
