AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth Women have also been busy in this summer's transfer window, signing five players ahead of the new season.
Katie James, Charmaine True, Kelly Fripp, Becki Bath and Sam Chrippes have all linked up with Steve Cuss' side, who are playing their first season in the National League.
After the last two campaigns have been declared null and void, the Cherries saw their application for upward movement successful in May and are currently top of the table after four games.
Wins against Southampton Women and Larkhall Athletic, as well as draws against Swindon Town and Exeter City have got the side off to a great start, with the new faces more than playing their part.
Since there's been plenty of movement and change across all AFC Bournemouth teams this summer, we've provided a round-up of Cuss' five summer signings in case you missed it!
Katie James
Katie James was the club's first summer signing, arriving from National League outfit Portsmouth.
She was the club's longest-serving player, having joined them back in August 2013 as an 18 year old, making her way up from the development squad.
The midfielder's first team debut came against Coventry in 2014, before notching 24 goals in 95 appearances and winning countless Hampshire Cups with the fellow south coast outfit.
James has also represented her country at Beach Soccer, most recently playing in the European Championships out in Portugal during June 2021.
Charmaine True
True also arrived from Portsmouth, where she had two stints at the club.
She ended the 2019/20 season as the team's top goalscorer and also stood out last season, with her consistent performances winning her the club's Player of the Year award.
Previously, she spent the 2018/19 campaign with Crystal Palace, netting 33 goals in just 16 games across both the development squad and first team.
Kelly Fripp
The Dorset-born centre-back joined on a permanent basis and became the side's third summer signing.
Fripp had been at Southampton since the age of 17 and last season played her football in the National League, meaning she possesses plenty of experience in what is a young Cherries side.
She has already netted her first goal for the club, despite playing in defence, scoring the side's only goal in a 1-1 draw with Exeter City two weeks ago.
Becki Bath
Another signing from Portsmouth, forward Becki Bath joined the Cherries less than a week before the start of the new campaign.
Before the 2020/21 season was declared null and void, she notched up 14 goals in ten games for Portsmouth, topping the National League scoring charts.
She's also featured prominently in the FA Cup, most recently scoring against Cheltenham when football returned in May.
The striker has already impressed in red and black, netting a sensational double against Southampton as Steve Cuss' side won 4-0 at home, before she then went on to bag a hat-trick four days later in a 6-0 win over Larkhall Athletic.
Sam Chrippes
Goalkeeper Sam Chrippes joins having spent her entire junior and senior career with local side, Poole Town.
She possesses plenty of National League experience, having represented the Dolphins in the division for over five years.
Chrippes made her debut for the Cherries last weekend, keeping a clean sheet as the side hit Larkhall Athletic for six.
