Gallery: Hillier hits leveller for Cherries

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Gemma Hillier’s second-half equaliser earned AFC Bournemouth a share of the spoils from a 1-1 draw with National League counterparts Keynsham Town on Sunday.

Hillier’s fifth goal of the season, a rasping drive from the edge of the box, saw the Cherries maintain their unbeaten record in Division One South West.

Keynsham opened the scoring in the first half when Vicky Vipond arrived to meet Naomi Clipston’s free-kick, steering the ball home in the 20th minute.

A crowd of 6,162 saw the Cherries hit the woodwork through Lucy Cooper and Erin Bloomfield, while a string of fine save from Keynsham goalkeeper Charlotte Haynes kept them at bay until Hillier struck.

The Cherries will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they face Southampton Women at Test Park on Thursday (7.45pm kick-off).
