Development squad remain unbeaten in league

The Cherries started brightly and with only one minute on the clock, they found themselves ahead. A pass sprayed to Emily Phillips on the right saw her glide past the Rushmoor left-back, before intelligently cutting the ball back for Helen Corbin to smash past the goalkeeper.

The Cherries continued to create more chances through Ana Hnatiw and Ayuma Asira, both of which were denied by the opposing ‘keeper. At the other end of the pitch, Bournemouth stopper Katie Scadding was called into action to expertly save a low free-kick that came firing through a crowd of players.

The next goalmouth action was to occur on 15 minutes and led to the equaliser for Rushmoor. A long-ball from the defence was not dealt with sufficiently by the Cherries backline and the Rushmoor striker rushed through to slot past Scadding. 

For the next 15 minutes, chances would be created at both ends but neither side were able to capitalise until the 30^th minute when Rushmoor took the lead for the first time.

It was an unfortunate moment for the Cherries whose defender at the back post could only divert a clearance into her own net after Rushmoor had kept the ball alive from a corner.

With the goal unsettling AFC Bournemouth, Rushmoor were to add two more goals to take a 4-1 lead going into half time.

With their unbeaten run in the league under threat, Bournemouth had it all to do in the second half and they responded well when in the 60^th minute a goal was pulled back after Larissa White, making her first appearance after being promoted from the under-16s, played an excellent through ball for Corbin, who shot past the Rushmoor goalkeeper.

The momentum then swung, and Bournemouth started pushing more players forward and created plenty of chances.

With only five minutes left on the clock it was looking likely that the Cherries were to suffer their first defeat of the season, however a glimmer of hope was provided when Corbin completed her hat-trick in the 90^th minute to set up a dramatic finish to the game.

With nothing left to lose, Bournemouth pushed forward in search of an equaliser and their spirit was to be rewarded when Charlet Norman-Tasker was able to poke the ball home from close range.

Within only seconds left on the clock, a final chance was to be presented, however a quickly taken shot from Norman-Tasker narrowly went wide of the post which saw the game end 4-4.
