AFC Bournemouth under-21s boss Shaun Cooper is looking forward to the Cherries’ Premier League Cup tie away at Liverpool.
The game is taking place at Melwood on Sunday with kick-off at 12pm and a win would take Cooper’s side to maximum points in Group C after three games.
Following wins against Burnley and West Bromwich Albion in the opening two games, Cooper is eager for the side to impress on Merseyside.
This will be Cooper's fourth game in charge following Wednesday's 2-1 friendly over Stevenage.
"The lads get to spend time together this weekend as we’re going up to watch the first team against Manchester City," Cooper explained.
"We’re pleased to be given that opportunity and hopefully the first team can get a good result.
"We’ll be staying over and that will be a new experience for some the lads, it’s a chance to prepare for what should be a good game.
"We’ve seen plenty of clips of Liverpool and they’re a very good side, they have a high tempo, lots of energy and we have to make sure that we’re on top of our game for a tough test.
"We know if we win we have every chance of qualifying with a win, it won’t be mathematical but it would put us in a great position.
"It’s a good competition and the lads look forward to any game that they play in, whether it be a friendly or a big game away to Liverpool.
"There’s a real togetherness in the squad and everyone is really looking forward to the game, it’s a good opportunity for our lads to play against young players who play in the under-23s Champions League."
