A defeat to England on Tuesday evening signalled the end of Chris Mepham and Kieffer Moore's World Cup.

The duo started the final game of Group B at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Qatar with Wales knowing they needed to win to stand a chance of qualifying.

Mepham created the only chance of an uneventful first half, playing in Joe Allen, who slashed an effort high over the bar from the edge of the box.

Marcus Rashford's stunning free-kick in the 50th minute ignited England's fire and Phil Foden doubled the lead just two minutes later.

Moore's long-distance effort forced an important save from Jordan Pickford, a deflection from Harry Maguire threatening to take it away from the goalkeeper.

Rashford added his second goal of the evening to confirm the victory for England, which confirms a round of 16 tie with Senegal on Sunday.

For Moore and Mepham, their World Cup comes to an end and focus quickly shifts to the return of the Premier League.
