Gary O'Neil has named his first side since taking the role as the club's permanent head coach in November.

The 39-year-old had been in interim charge since the end of August, guiding the Cherries to 14th in the Premier League table before the World Cup break.

Tonight's Carabao Cup game away to Newcastle United is the club's first since early November, with the side hoping to make it into the quarter-finals of the competition.

O'Neil, who feared a virus within the camp could cause some selection dilemmas, has made three changes since the last outing against Everton in the Premier League.

Chris Mepham, who was suspended that day, comes back into the side, while Jaidon Anthony and Ryan Christie also start for the Cherries.

Adam Smith, Marcos Senesi and Jordan Zemura all keep their places at the back, with Dominic Solanke and Kieffer Moore set to lead the line up the other end of the pitch.

Lewis Cook and Philip Billing will hold the fort in midfield, while Mark Travers keeps his place in goal.

On the bench, youngsters Ben Greenwood, Dominic Sadi and Daniel Adu-Adjei are all named in the squad, while Jamal Lowe, who was instrumental in the third round, also features.
