AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has revealed that Lloyd Kelly has picked up an injury that may keep him out until the next international break.

Kelly was substituted in the defeat at Brighton with seven minutes remaining, while Chris Mepham was missing from the matchday squad after picking up an injury as well.

Elsewhere, the boss is hopeful that Tyler Adams will be involved in the squad against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup.

"Lloyd Kelly picked up an injury, it’s quite a small injury," he said.

"To get him back before the next international break will be tough. The day before the game at the weekend, Chris Mepham had a small injury as well.

"We have the chance though, if he trains well today, to put Tyler Adams in the squad.

"He wants to help, we have to take the decision after training but I think and hope he’s available to be on the bench.”

With the Cherries facing three games in six days, Iraola says he will have to assess the players’ recovery levels before deciding on rotation in the cup, but he does expect some changes at Vitality Stadium against the Potters.

"The selection we will make will be a Premier League team because of the standard of our players," he continued.

"I think we have to change some players due to the timeframe of playing Sunday to Saturday and six days between Premier League games and a cup game as well, it’s going to be hard.

"Maybe one or two have to play three games this week but we will see how they train today and how I feel the legs are of some players."

The head coach also revealed that Emiliano Marcondes and Ryan Fredericks are “far away” from training with the team and are not close to a return to the squad.
