Simon Francis has reserved special praise for in-form wide man David Brooks.

The young Welsh international, who has impressed so far this season, netted his third goal in his last four Premier League outings during the weekend’s 3-0 win at Fulham.

And club captain Francis has been delighted to see how quickly the former Sheffield United man has settled on the south coast following his summer transfer.

Francis said: “He’s settled in really well with the lads. He’s been a real breath of fresh air for us.

“He’s very laid back off the pitch, which I think is why he’s looked so calm and assured on it.

“He’s provided that left foot out wide that we haven’t really had for a couple of years, probably since Matt Ritchie left really.

“His signing has added another dimension to us going forward and he’s been excellent so far.

“He can also still improve, and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue to develop.”
