AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The Cherries struck five in a lethal attacking display as they celebrated the return of supporters with a 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Dominic Solanke scored twice in a matter of minutes to give the home side a flying start with a deft finish inside the opening minutes, Brooks adding a terrific third as the Cherries romped clear inside the first quarter of the match.

Into the second half and Junior Stanislas netted after a dazzling solo run, substitute Sam Surridge next joining the goalscoring party with a well taken fifth.

Teenager Ajani Burchall carved his name into club history with a late appearance as the home fans enjoyed a goal-laden return to the home of the Cherries.

There was a first league start of the season for Jack Simpson, Chris Mepham missing injured, while on the bench was 16-year-old winger Burchall, the Bermudan in a matchday squad for the first time.

With the returning Cherries fans in enthusiastic voice ahead of kick-off, the hosts got proceedings started at Vitality Stadium.

The opener took under eight minutes to arrive, two of Bournemouth's standout recent performers combining.

Newly-crowned Championship Player of the Month Brooks picked up possession, spotted Solanke's movement and threaded a low ball through which the striker controlled before delicately lofting over 'keeper Ben Hamer.

Asmir Begovic was sharp to pounce to his right and claw away a deflected effort from Juninho Bacuna, but it wasn't long before the fans were able to celebrate a second.

Naby Sarr gifted the ball to Jefferson Lerma on the edge of the box, the Colombian feeding the ball to Solanke who wasted little time in firing home a composed finish to double the advantage.

Visiting striker Danny Ward timed a run across the box and connected with a low shot that Begovic was able to dive onto to save, Lewis O'Brien off target a short time later with a shot from 25 yards.

However, a brilliant third was soon in the offing, Solanke and Brooks again combining to increase the Cherries' advantage.

Lerma was involved again, crossing for Solanke who cushioned down to Brooks. Showing his talent, the Wales international nudged the ball left before curling home a delicious 20-yard finish that Hamer was a spectator for.

The supporters asking for and getting a song from well-known supporter Nonny, the atmosphere was cheery as Begovic comfortably gathered from Ward's shot, Huddersfield able to create half chances without fully opening the Cherries defence.

Brooks was close to a fourth as he stole onto Stanislas' ball and passed a shot a foot wide of the post.

Stanislas' inswinging free-kick beat everyone and forced Hamer into a diving save, the home side seeing their three-goal lead through to half time.

Town switched 'keepers for the start of the second period, Ryan Schofield replacing Hamer, opposite number Begovic down well to save within a minute of the restart.

Bournemouth were able to largely control the ball, Solanke twice playing a role in speedy forward breaks that were latterly thwarted, before treatment required for a couple of Huddersfield players slowed the tempo of the game.

Philip Billing saw a shot from a tight angle saved behind for a corner, the visitors clearing but soon characteristically pressed high up the field by the swarming Cherries.

Huddersfield found a way through when Harry Toffolo raced onto a through ball but as he looked to strike, Lloyd Kelly averted the danger by taking the shot off the left-back's toe.

Striding inside from the right, Solanke powered a shot wide from outside the area, confidence clearly high, before Dan Gosling and Surridge came on for Brooks and Billing.

It was four when Stanislas weaved through the beleaguered Huddersfield backline, eluding tackle after tackle before stabbing home inside the box for his fourth goal of the season.

A fifth goal arrived within moments with Surridge emphatically finishing after man-of-the-match Solanke and Gosling had combined to create the chance central and 12 yards from goal.

The Huddersfield defence withering, Stanislas poked goalwards from close in but was blocked, substitute Rodrigo Riquelme similarly threatening a sixth when he struck with power, Schofield repelling at his near post.

Gosling had an effort saved by Schofield before a double moment of history for two Cherries academy graduates with four minutes left on the clock in normal time.

Burchall and Jordan Zemura appeared for their league debuts, the former the third youngest player in Bournemouth league history.

Zemura saw a late shot blocked, both the scoring ended at five on a brilliant afternoon for the home side at Vitality Stadium.
