At 9am the Premier League fixtures will be released on afcb.co.uk, but before that we look at some memorable recent opening days.
Shakers shaken
August 8th 2009: League Two. Bury 0-3 AFC Bournemouth
Brett Pitman, Anton Robinson and Mark Molesley were on the scoresheet as the Cherries ran out comfortable winners at Gigg Lane.
Nearly 3,000 fans witnessed the victory and it was the start of a dominant campaign as Bournemouth finished second and were promoted to League One.
Back with a bang
August 3rd 2013: Championship. AFC Bournemouth 2-1 Charlton Athletic
Two goals from Lewis Grabban saw the Cherries gain an excellent win over Charlton.
It was the club's first game in the second tier for 23 years following promotion from League One.
Even a Yann Kermorgant scissor kick for the Addicks could not dampen the hosts' spirits as the Cherries came away with an impressive victory.
It was third time lucky for Bournemouth as they had faced Charlton on the opening day in two of the previous three seasons but had lost both times without scoring.
August 6th 2005: League One. Milton Keynes Dons 2-2 AFC Bournemouth.
The Cherries fought back from two goals down to gain an unlikely point.
A brace from Izale McLeod had put MK Dons in command, but goals from James Hayter and a 90th-minute Andrew Surman equaliser saw the visitors salvage a late draw.
Last-gasp comeback
August 6th 2005: League One. Milton Keynes Dons 2-2 AFC Bournemouth.
The Cherries fought back from two goals down to gain an unlikely point.
A brace from Izale McLeod had put MK Dons in command, but goals from James Hayter and a 90th-minute Andrew Surman equaliser saw the visitors salvage a late draw.
The Promised Land
August 8th 2015: Premier League. AFC Bournemouth 0-1 Aston Villa
The scoreline itself may not live long in the memory, but this match was about much more than the final result.
It was Bournemouth's first ever top-flight game and while Rudy Gestede's header 18 minutes from time secured a narrow away victory, a capacity crowd witnessed the Cherries' first ever Premier League match.
August 9th 2014: Championship. Huddersfield 0-4 AFC Bournemouth
Goals from Marc Pugh, Kermorgant and a brace from debutant Callum Wilson saw the Cherries run out dominant 4-0 winners at the John Smith's Stadium.
The match started well as Pugh scored after just 26 seconds. Three further goals saw the away side secure their biggest opening-day win of the century so far.
It was the start of a memorable campaign as the team achieved promotion to the Premier League and a sensational league title triumph.
