Illia Zabarnyi wrapped up an impressive international break with a clean sheet as Ukraine secured victory over Malta.

It was the third fixture of the period and Viktor Tsyhankov’s goal confirmed back-to-back wins in the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers.

The win moves the nation up to second place in Group C with just three games played, Zabarnyi picking up his 26th cap for his country.

Chris Mepham and Wales were defeated by Turkey in a further blow for their UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying hopes.

A red card to Joe Morrell made it a tough evening for Cymru and goals by Umut Nayir and Arda Guler confirmed victory for the home side.

Meanwhile, Philip Billing and Mark Travers were unused substitutes for Denmark and Republic of Ireland respectively.

Denmark came from behind to secure a point against Slovenia while goals from Mikey Johnston, Evan Ferguson and Adam Idah earned a 3-0 win.
