AFC Bournemouth winger Ryan Christie made his 35th appearance for Scotland last night but was unable to prevent defeat to Turkey.

The 27-year-old started from the bench at Diyarbakır Stadium as former Liverpool defender Ozan Kabak headed Turkey ahead just before half-time.

Cengiz Under added a second for the home side before John McGinn's stunning strike narrowed the scoreline.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke turned to Christie in the 67th minute in search for an equaliser and he went close, driving an effort just over the bar.

The fixture marks the only international game of the break for Christie, who can now turn attentions to the return of the Premier League in December.
