Birthday boy Roger East will take charge of AFC Bournemouth’s final game of the season against Premier League rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Wiltshire-based official (pictured left), who turns 54 on the day of the game, has made three visits to Vitality Stadium this season.

He was in the middle for the Cherries’ 2-1 win over Huddersfield in December and the resounding 4-0 victory against Chelsea in January.

East also took charge of the 1-1 draw with Wolves in February, awarding three penalties, two to the Cherries and one to the visitors.

He joined the select group of officials in 2013 after a successful spell as a Football League referee and has taken charge of 90 games in the top flight.

East, who has been on the national list since 2006, was on the line for the 2004 FA Cup final and refereed the 2012 League One play-off final between Huddersfield and Sheffield United.

He oversaw his first Premier League match between Swansea City and Sunderland in September 2012.

East, who has taken charge of 403 games during his career, will be assisted at Selhurst Park by Harry Lennard and Adrian Holmes, while Keith Stroud is fourth official.
