The four nominees for April’s Michael Matthews Player-of-the-Month award have been revealed – and it’s time to cast your vote!

Four players have been nominated for the ninth award of 2018/19, with the month again serving up a mixed bag for the Cherries.

It opened with a disappointing 3-1 defeat by Burnley with goals from Ashley Barnes, Chris Wood and Ashley Westwood seeing the Clarets hit back to triumph at Vitality Stadium.

However, Eddie Howe’s team responded by registering a record-breaking 5-0 victory at Brighton – the Cherries’ best away win in the Premier League.

Although relegated Fulham upset the applecart at Vitality Stadium by winning 1-0, the Cherries closed the month by battling out a stirring 3-3 draw with Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

First nominee Ryan Fraser had a month to remember, scoring the Cherries’ second goal at Brighton and adding a hat-trick of assists, two at the Amex and a third at St Mary’s.

Callum Wilson, our second nominee, was also on top form against the Seagulls and the Saints, netting once and supplying two assists at the Amex and bagging two goals and one assist at St Mary’s.

Third nominee Dan Gosling was the beneficiary of Wilson’s assist against Southampton as he rounded off a stunning team move to level the score at 1-1, having also opened the scoring against Brighton.

And final nominee Steve Cook returned to action at Brighton following a lengthy injury layoff to turn in an impressive display as the Cherries kept a clean sheet. It had been feared Cook would be ruled out for the rest of the season but he maintained his good form in the draw at St Mary’s.

Previous winners of the monthly award were Ryan Fraser (August and September), David Brooks (October, December and January), Jefferson Lerma (November) and Chris Mepham (March).
