AFC Bournemouth under-21s striker Sam Surridge has signed a new contract with the club, keeping him at Vitality Stadium until June 2019.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan with League Two side Yeovil Town and is getting plenty of minutes at Huish Park, scoring seven times already for the Glovers.

Last season, he enjoyed a successful spell a Vanarama National League South side Poole Town, scoring eight goals in 16 appearances, before appearing for the first team in pre-season this campaign against Estoril in Marbella.

Surridge said after signing the new contract: "I'm buzzing, I heard about it a couple of weeks ago so I'm really happy and couldn't wait to get it done.

"I've enjoyed my time with Yeovil so far this season and I think I'm developing well.

"I went to Poole last year and that helped me going into this year and I've played a few games, got a few goals and I want to get as a good as I can.

"I want to come back the best player I can, it's nice to get rewarded."

Surridge is also set to feature for the Glovers in the Emirates FA Cup against Manchester United this month, and is hoping to help cause an upset at Huish Park.

"Looking forward to it," he added.

"We were all watching the draw together and the gaffer thinks we we can win or get a replay at Old Trafford, so everyone is looking forward to it.

"I want to keep scoring more goals and improve my goal to game ratio, and to make sure we get as high as we can in the league."
