AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth striker Sam Surridge has signed a new contract with the club.
The 20-year-old's new deal will see the frontman stay at Vitality Stadium until June 2021.
Surridge is currently enjoying a loan spell at Oldham Athletic, who are currently 13th in Sky Bet League Two.
It's the second EFL club the Cherries academy graduate has had experience with, after spending the 2017/18 season with Yeovil Town.
After a promising start to life at Boundary Park, where Surridge has played 13 times and already scored nine goals, he's delighted to have signed a new contract with the Cherries.
"It's a nice feeling and I’m really pleased," he said.
"I’ve been doing well out on loan and it’s almost like being rewarded for what I've been doing and it’s going well so far.
"I scored quite a few goals in my first few months and I felt sharp and was really enjoying my football. Unfortunately I suffered an injury and didn’t play for five weeks, but I played my first 90 minutes in the FA Cup on Saturday.
"I need to get fir and over the injury, it’s OK having your leg feel OK but getting that sharpness back is key really. But it’s been a really good experience so far and I’m enjoying it.
"To be playing football at my age in the league is great, it will give me lots of experience for when I come and back and hopefully that will stand me in good stead to be around the first team.
"I’ve had lots of good experiences out on loan so far and it’s almost been an upwards curve. I want to keep playing and keep scoring and see what happens. I want to keep showing that I have earned the new deal."
