Nnamdi Ofoborh's World Cup run was ended in the second round as Nigeria were edged out 2-1 by Senegal.

Having made it through the group stages, the Flying Eagles were pitched up against their west African rivals in the last 16 and were dealt a double blow just ahead of the break as Amadou Sagna and Ibrahima Niane gave Senegal control.

Nigeria burst back into the contest just after the restart when Aniekeme Okon diverted home a from a free-kick, but there was to be no late drama as the scoreline remained at 2-1, meaning an end to the country's World Cup hopes.

Cherries midfielder Ofoborh made his second successive start of the tournament, playing 70 minutes in Lodz.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Lerma featured for Colombia as they continued their Copa America preparations with an emphatic 3-0 win over neighbours Panama in a friendly.

Midfielder Lerma won his 11th cap for his country when he came off the bench as one of three half-time substitutes utilized by manager Carlos Queiroz in Bogota.

First-half goals from William Tesillo and Luis Muriel, coupled with a Radamel Falcao penalty, ensured victory for Los Cafeteros at the El Campin Stadium in the capital.

Colombia complete their warm-up campaign when they face Peru in Lima on Sunday before meeting Argentina in their opening Copa America group game in Bahia, Brazil on June 15th.

Their second group match is against Qatar in Sao Paulo on June 19th before they return to the Arena Fonte Nova in Bahia to do battle with Paraguay four days later.
