AFC Bournemouth under-21s manager Carl Fletcher believes his side can take a lot from the late defeat to Wolves in the Premier League Cup.
The Cherries made the long journey to Telford on the day of the game to face the Midlands side and were defeated as a late mistake meant the team were defeated.
Fletcher believes the whole experience, from travelling to the game itself, has given plenty for the team to learn from.
"Coming up against Wolves they're a category one side so they're used to playing in stadiums and going away every week, playing in front of people," he said.
"The experience of travelling on the day, having pre-match and then going to play on a difficult pitch against a really good team.
"We're disappointed with the result and to lose it late on, but it's all part of the process.
"Players will make mistakes but it's important that they learn from every game - they have to take things like this on board then in the long run it’s a positive.
"We need better quality in possession and games sometimes don’t go your way, but it’s another game that the players can learn from."
Next week sees the Cherries face a senior men’s side, against Farnborough on Wednesday 13th December.
Fletcher said on the upcoming game: "They play in the same league as Weymouth and Dorchester so it will be a tough test. But we look forward to it, that will be another challenge.
"It’s another competition that will be provide a new taste of a different kind of football, something we’re keen for the lads to experience.
"We’ve had four games, two a week, and this is the final one of those four games – we’re keen to qualify and bounce back."
