AFC Bournemouth we’re 5-0 winners against Moneyfields to progress in the Hampshire Senior Cup on Tuesday evening.

Balraj Landa and Dominic Sadi both bagged braces, while midfielder Jack Wadham also got on the scoresheet.

The win sees Alan Connell’s side progress to round three, with the draw set to take place in the coming days.

Taking place at AFC Portchester, the first chance of the game came just five minutes in as the ball sat up nicely for Michael Dacosta Gonzalez on the edge of the area, but his shot on the volley was well saved by Dylan Kramer.

Ten minutes later and Sadi looked to test the Moneys ‘keeper, turning his man inside the area and getting a shot away, before the save by was made again.

The breakthrough came moments later as Landa broke the deadlock for his first goal of the season, directing a shot from the edge of the area beyond Kramer after some lovely build up play from the Cherries.

The forward was at it again just before the half-hour mark, beating numerous Moneys bodies before angling a shot from a tight angle past Kramer to double his side’s lead.

Before the half was out, some long balls from Archie Harris looked to cause some trouble. The centre-back first looked for Landa, with the ‘keeper alert and able to clear, before Ben Winterburn aimed to capitalise on a missed clearance, the Moneys defence recovering well.

The Cherries kept on coming, Finn Tonks next to try his luck and forcing another excellent save from range, while a Sadi cross was left by Winterburn with Dacosta Gonzalez seemingly ready to strike but Moneyfields were able to clear.

As the second half got underway, Winterburn was in the thick of it again and nearly had a third for the Cherries as Ferdinand Okoh picked him out in the box, but the midfielder couldn’t quite find a clean connection.

Landa, in search of his hat-trick, then attempted an ambitious lob after Tonks won it back on the near side, but the effort from the halfway line didn’t trouble Kramer.

An all-important third came with 56 minutes on the clock as Wadham found the target with a low effort after a corner was taken short and he was played in by Sadi.

The midfielder then got his first of the afternoon less than 90 seconds later, rifling an effort home at Kramer’s far post.

Connell’s side kept up the pressure, with reinforcements off the bench through the likes of Ollie Eagle, Remy Rees-Dottin and Toure Williams.

The fresh legs certainly paid off and Sadi pounced for his second of the evening. Great play from Landa saw him round the ‘keeper and unselfishly play it back for the midfielder, who finished first time and celebrated in front of the AFC Bournemouth cameras.

There was still time for one more chance to fall the way of the Cherries, as Noa Boutin struck the post late on but he wasn’t to get his goal on an already successful night in Portsmouth.

Next up for the development squad is a trip to Charlton Athletic in the Premier League Cup, taking place next Tuesday in Dartford.
