Development squad midfielder Dominic Sadi makes the first pre-season diary entry on his team’s trip to France, the upcoming tournament and training with the first team.

While out in France for the Tournoi Européen U21, Cherries development squad players will be making first-person diary entries, with group stage games against AS Saint-Étienne, AS Monaco and EA Guingamp following two days of training during their time there.

Day one out here has been good for us with a double session and a lot of physical work.

It’s good personally to be back with the boys and having a good first session, we got what we needed to get out of it. Altogether it’s been a perfect day.

The second session we got some tactical work in and played how we want to play in this tournament; everyone’s looking good, smooth and sharp.

We’re all fighting for places, so hopefully we go out there and win our first game on Friday.

Being out here is good for us, everyone is being collective and together. We had an early start at 2am to travel out here yesterday, but everyone’s together, you can see it.

Being one of the older boys here, I want to lead everyone because it’s important in this tournament that we fight together and, hopefully, win a trophy together!

The centre here is amazing – although the room’s a bit tight with me, Ferdi and Bevo! It’s all good though, the facility is nice, the pitch and grass are amazing, so it’s good to be out here.

We’re in a new environment and getting new experiences, so everyone is happy and smiling.

From a personal point of view having been away in Marbella with the first team as well, it’s no different here than it was there, a tour is a tour.

We want to get the same things out of it, to get better and to get fitter.

Out there with the first team was great with meeting the new manager and the new staff, and getting a good workout.

Now, coming out here, I’m just using the experiences I learned with the first team to help the boys out here. Hopefully, that can help push everyone’s levels up here.

With going up to category two, it’s going to be a harder season for us, but we know what we need to work on and we’ll work on it.

Up the Cherries!

- Dominic
