Club Recipe: Golden Syrup Broccoli Noodle

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

This week's recipe for the AFC Bournemouth Hospitality and Events team is a delicious dish with an Asian twist.

Ingredients

Makes One Portion

  • 60g Dried whole wheat noodles
  • 100g Broccoli (remove stalk and cut into smaller pieces)
  • 2 x tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 x Garlic clove (crushed)
  • 2 x Pinch of chilli flakes
  • 1 x Tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1 x Tablespoon soy sauce
  • ¼ Lime
  • Salt and pepper
  • ½ Red onion (thinly sliced)

Method

  1. Bring to the boil a pan of salted water and cook the noodles for four minutes
  2. Meanwhile, pan-fry the broccoli and red onion in a splash of sesame oil for two minutes
  3. Add the garlic and chilli flakes then fry for a further two minutes
  4. Add the golden syrup, soy sauce, one tablespoon of sesame oil, a squeeze of lime juice, a little cracked black pepper and a tablespoon of cooking water from the noodles then simmer for two minutes
  5. Drain the noodles and add them to the pan, then stir and serve
