AFC Bournemouth
This is a really well balanced and refreshing cocktail, it’s easy to make and looks impressive.
Ingredients:
- 2 Earl Grey tea bags
- 50ml dry gin
- 2 x lemons
- Sugar syrup - It is easy to make your own!*
- Ice cubes
* Simply mix equal amounts of caster sugar and hot water until dissolved and leave to cool. (Store excess syrup in a bottle and refrigerate for future use).
Method:
- Firstly, brew some Earl Grey tea using one of the tea bags for around 3-4 mins and allow to cool.
- Measure 50ml of the tea and pour into a mixing tin (if you don't have a cocktail shaker just use a large glass or container).
- Next add 50ml of your dry gin into the mixing tin.
- Then add half a shot of lemon juice (12.5ml).
- Add half a shot of your sugar syrup.
- Now add 4-5 large chunks of ice into your mixing tin and stir with a spoon for around 15 seconds (This chills the liquid and dilutes the alcohol so that it is easier to drink).
- Next strain your mixture with a tea strainer or small sieve into your finest cup and saucer, take care not to get any ice into the cup.
- Finally garnish with lemon slices and submerge the remaining earl grey tea bag into the drink.
