Kieffer Moore scored the winning goal for Wales as the AFC Bournemouth international contingent enjoyed an excellent day of action.

Moore started alongside Chris Mepham as they hosted Latvia at Cardiff City Stadium in Wales' second UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier.

The Cherries forward scored the only goal of the game as he rose highest to meet Daniel James' cross, directing his header into the bottom corner.

It's his tenth goal for Wales and no player has scored more for the Dragons since Moore made his international debut in September 2019.

The win leaves Wales top of Group D following two games, following the excellent 1-1 draw with Croatia in the opening game.

Ryan Christie started for Scotland as they secured a seismic victory over Spain at Hampden Park, continuing a 100% start to their EURO 2024 qualifying campaign.

Christie had been rewarded for his fine cameo in the win over Cyprus and he looked a threat throughout the evening.

In a raucous atmosphere, Scott McTominay scored twice to secure a stunning victory over Spain, their first competitive victory over the opponents for 39 years.

It was Christie's 36th international cap and surely one of his most memorable.

The goalscoring action didn't stop for the Cherries as Dango Ouattara found the net for Burkina Faso in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The winger visited Togo in the second of their back-to-back matches over the international break and he found the breakthrough in the 12th minute.

Bertrand Traoré's shot was saved by Wassiou Ouro-Gneni but Ouattara was alert in the box to score the rebound.

His fourth goal in the qualifiers places him in third place in the top scorer list, with only Bayern's Sadio Mané and Napoli's Victor Osimhen scoring more with five.

While Kodjo Laba equalised for Togo, a point was all that was necessary for Burkina Faso to confirm qualification for the upcoming AFCON, which is due to be held in January 2024 in Côte d'Ivoire.

Meanwhile, Hamed Traorè was an unused substitute as Côte d'Ivoire cruised to a 2-0 victory over Comoros.

The win confirmed that Traorè's nation will finish in the top two of Group H, although qualification for AFCON was already confirmed on the basis of being the host nation.

Finally, Matías Viña came on as a late substitute as Uruguay defeated South Korea in an international friendly in Seoul.

He replaced Jonathan Rodríguez in the 89th minute as goals by Sebastián Coates and Matías Vecino confirmed the victory.
