AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth had a host of players in weekend action across England, Scotland and France.

Here's a closer look at how they got on...

Lewis Grabban

Grabban and his Aston Villa side enjoyed a very successful evening at Villa Park on Saturday, with a rampant display to overcome league leaders Wolves 4-1.

The Cherries loanee was on target once again for Steve Bruce’s side, netting the third goal in what was a crucial win in the Championship promotion picture.

Albert Adomah swung in a cross and Grabban was at the near post to nick it ahead of Willy Boly for his 16th of the season, his fourth goal for Villa in as many consecutive games.

Benik Afobe

On the opposing team to Grabban was fellow striker Afobe, fresh from his mid-week goal against Leeds United.

The 25-year-old came off the bench of 67 minutes, with Wolves already 3-1 down.

Max Gradel

Over in France, Gradel played 90 minutes for Ligue 1 side Toulouse, but they couldn’t overcome a strong Marseille side 2-1 at home.

Baily Cargill

In the SPL, the Cherries defender played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet, as Partick Thistle drew 0-0 with third place Aberdeen.

Ben Whitfield

Whitfield came off the bench and played just over 10 minutes of Port Vale’s 1-1 draw at Grimsby.

Sam Surridge

The striker started and played an hour, as Yeovil lost 2-0 to Newport County at Huish Park.

Ryan Allsop

Allsop saw his Lincoln side earn themselves three points against Chesterfield, winning 3-1 away from home.

Aaron Ramsdale

On the opposing side to Allsop was fellow ‘keeper Ramsdale, who did see his side take the lead, before Lincoln came back.

Shaun Hobson

The youngster got another 90 minutes in the tank for Chester, but his side lost out 2-0 to Wrexham.

Will Dennis

Dennis was on the winning side as his Weymouth team continued their good form, beating Biggleswade Town 2-1 away from home.

Elsewhere

Connor Mahoney, Mihai Dobre, Joe Quigley and Ollie Harfield didn’t feature for their respective clubs, whilst Patrick O’Flaherty and Sam Matthews both had their games postponed.
