Erin Bloomfield plundered a four-timer – including a 19-minute hat-trick – as AFC Bournemouth maintained their unbeaten National League run with a 7-0 victory over Portishead Town on Sunday.

Bloomfield took her tally for the season for the Cherries to 11 by scoring four times after the break for Steve Cuss’s team at The Everyone Active Stadium in Clevedon.

First-half goals from Molly Barron-Clark, Kenni Thompson and Chloe Gilroy put the Cherries in the driving seat before Bloomfield’s treble had them in cruise control.

Gilroy carved out the first shooting chance inside the opening 60 seconds, only to drag her effort wide after being picked out by Gemma McGuinness.

There was no reprieve for the hosts after three minutes, Barron-Clark’s venomous 20-yard drive giving the Cherries the lead in emphatic fashion.

And it was quickly doubled in the seventh minute when Thompson, teed up by Barron-Clark, saw her cross-shot sail over the head of Posset goalkeeper Yasmin Davies.

Gilroy went close to adding a third when her angled drive came crashing back off the crossbar, Erin Bloomfield firing wide after seizing on the loose ball.

As the Cherries continued to create chances, Barron-Clark’s first-time drive flashed past the upright before Bloomfield just failed to make contact with Thompson’s dangerous centre.

Gilroy extended the Cherries’ advantage when she applied a clinical finish past Davies from just inside the box having been played in by Thompson in the 21st minute.

Bloomfield wriggled free and created space, only to see her effort just clear the crossbar before Katie James’s long-range drive flew narrowly wide.

The Cherries almost grabbed a fourth on the stroke of half-time when Bloomfield’s towering header from Thompson’s corner hit the underside of the crossbar before being gathered by Davies.

Gilroy’s effort at the start of the second half rolled agonisingly the wrong wide of the upright before Bloomfield made it 4-0 after 58 minutes.

She slotted home her eighth Cherries goal of the season from close range having fastened on to Thompson’s cross which was whipped into the danger zone.

Davies dived to her right to foil Gilroy, the Posset goalkeeper then clutching Bloomfield’s volley after Thompson had again supplied the ammunition.

Lucy Cooper, on as a 63rd-minute replacement for Gilroy, saw her precise cross deftly turned in at the near post by Bloomfield as she added her second and the Cherries’ fifth midway through the second half.

And the striker completed her hat-trick when she reacted quickest after Barron-Clark’s thumping drive had been parried by Davies, Bloomfield tapping home the loose ball after 77 minutes.

Davies made two top-drawer saves to keep out efforts from Barron-Clark and Kelci Bowers before Cherries goalkeeper Dani Kosińska beat away a fierce drive from Annys Turner.

Bloomfield completed the scoring in the final minute, rifling home an unstoppable shot from just inside the box following a pass from Cooper.

AFC Bournemouth: Kosińska, Smith, Bowers, Jones (Venditto, 68), McGuinness (Butler, 63), James (Elkins, 68), Barron-Clark, Hillier, Thompson, Gilroy (Cooper, 63), Bloomfield.
