AFC Bournemouth under-18s were defeated by Birmingham City at the weekend.

Kashanga Kasukumya got on the scoresheet for the Cherries, making it successive games where he's found the net, but it didn't prevent a 2-1 defeat.

Speaking to afcb.co.uk, coach James Lowy said: "It was an excellent challenge for the group this weekend against Birmingham. The game had a bit of everything and the players had to manage swings of momentum throughout.

"There were parts of the game where we struggled technically and with the decision-making aspect when we were put under a lot of pressure.

"This is definite area of development for us as a group, and for us to see if we can recognise the in-game problems we are facing and how to solve them in the moment.

"Overall, it was a great game of development football which gave us a lot of areas where we need to improve individually and as a collective moving forward."
