Sensational Sadi unstoppable in friendly win

Midfielder Dominic Sadi delivered a sensational performance in an 8-2 victory over Newport County for the development squad.

With the Exiles’ youngsters visiting Canford Park Arena for a friendly, the Cherries’ summer arrival scored four and provided one assist against the Welsh club.

Sadi netted two in the first half to boost the team to a 3-1 lead at the break before going on to add a further two in the second period.

Three teammates also ended their afternoon’s work on the scoresheet, with Emiliano Marcondes, Noa Boutin and Marcus Daws also bagging.

For County, Jonah Williams and Lewys Twamley got themselves a goal, with the former striking first and the latter following suit in the second 45.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cherries were quick out of the traps at Canford and had almost gone ahead through both Boutin and Marcondes before doing so, with the latter striking the post.

Maintaining an opening ten minutes of dominance, Sadi gave his side the lead with a simple finish from close range after Boutin drilled a cross in from the left flank.

An even period followed in the clash, with Bournemouth again asserting dominance from the 25-minute mark.

Sadi and Marcondes both saw efforts saved well by the Newport goalkeeper before the former notched his second.

To complete a mazy run the midfielder coolly slotted home will a low, left-footed shot into the far corner after driving into the Exiles box.

Minutes later and it was three goals to the good, Boutin this time sending a carbon copy of his cross for the opener in for Marcondes to apply a close-range finish.

Newport would have the final say in the half with a drilled cross of their own though, as Williams finished a neat pass beyond Will Dennis at the far post.

Dennis was then called into action early in the second period as County started well.

The Cherries stopper clawed a shot from range away from his goal impressively before the resulting corner came back off the bar for Newport.

Refusing to allow County a chance at a comeback, for the third time in the game Boutin assisted with a drilled cross from the byline, Sadi again the scorer.

As the game reached the hour mark, Sadi turned provider after securing his hat-trick, sliding Marcondes into the box for the Dane to expertly slot home.

For the second goal in a row, the scorer provided the assist next as Marcondes teed up Boutin to slam the sixth in with a powerful strike from inside the box.

To continue a frantic ten-minute spell, the visitors then pulled a goal back through Twamley, who dispatched a penalty which the Exiles had quickly won following the Bournemouth goal.

With five minutes left on the clock Sadi netted his fourth with arguably the best goal of the lot.

Rouletting beyond two defenders after a rebounded pass had returned to him, the midfielder left himself one on one and calmly placed his finish home.

The route was completed with a minute left on the clock by Daws, who was met by a searching Boutin switch leaving the forward to bear down on goal and strike into the far bottom corner.
