Team news: Wilson and Brooks still missing

Eddie Howe confirmed in his pre-Wolverhampton Wanderers press conference that Callum Wilson and David Brooks will still be missing for Saturday’s Premier League match.

The AFC Bournemouth manager also spoke about the availability of Junior Stanislas and Charlie Daniels ahead of the return to action.

“There are no dramatic changes,” Howe started. “Callum Wilson and David Brooks are still out with our long-term injuries Simon Francis and Lewis Cook also still missing.

“We’ll make a late call on Junior Stanislas, who has a hip flexor injury. Charlies Daniels is available for selection.”

The manager gave further information on the progress of key attacking pair Wilson and Brooks, with both players closing in on returns.

“They’re improving quickly,” he said. “But this game comes too quickly for them, but we’ve not seen them on the grass yet so they’re still a way away.”

The match on Saturday comes a fortnight after the Cherries’ last outing, with Howe feeding back on the extended preparation time for the visit of Wolves.

“We’ve had a good couple of weeks and done some good training,” he explained. “As well as various other things to keep the players entertained. It was productive and we had a good time preparing.

“We’ve kept things interesting and fresh for the players and we’re looking forward to playing again.

“The possibilities are still there for us this season, we’ve got 12 games to go and we have to show the consistency to deliver, building some momentum quickly."
