Powerchair Players pick up awards

AFC Bournemouth's Community Sports Trust are delighted to announce that two players from the Powerchair squad have recently been recognised with awards.

Attending the WFA End of Season awards evening, Regan Kemp was named the 2021/22 Championship Young Player of the Season.

The Cherries were promoted back to the MDUK Premiership during the last weekend of fixtures in Nottingham, as they won all five of their fixtures. Regan’s contributions throughout the season didn't go unnoticed as he netted an impressive 22 time, finishing second top goalscorer in the league.

More recently, Adam Sevenoaks also received the Spirit of Grassroots Football Award from Dorset FA.

The representative described Adam as deserving of the award due to his commitment to volunteering at the Dorset Children’s Foundation's football sessions, where he helps coach disabled and neuro-diverse children. He helps to keep the sessions inclusive and makes sure that wheelchair-bound children are able to participate through sharing his knowledge of being a wheelchair user himself.

Following recognition of both Regan and Adam, head of community Steve Cuss told afcb.co.uk: “Everyone at AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust is very proud of Regan and Adam.”

“The awards are excellent recognition for both players as they are very committed to both playing and promoting the game.”

“Congratulations to both Regan and Adam.”
