Over £8,000 donated from Cherries Community Fund

AFC Bournemouth's Cherries Community Fund has recently donated £8,940 into the local community in the latest panel of donations. 

This is in addition to the £5,962 previously donated in January for ‘Cherry Monday’, also taken from this quarter’s applications.

The following donations have been awarded to local causes in the area:

  • £1,000.00 to Mosaic to provide Bereavement counselling for children and young people.
  • £250.00 to Poole Community Exchange towards kitchen equipment for the community kitchen for the local community in Poole and Parkstone. 
  • £790.00 to Christchurch RFC towards new equipment and kit for the youth rugby programme.   
  • £1,000.00 to STARS Dorset (Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services - Dorset Rape Crisis) towards their young people’s wellbeing journals. 
  • £1,000.00 to Verwood Family Church towards new equipment for the bus and games and activities for the ‘Coach in the Community’ project.
  • £1,000.00 to REFRESH towards their courses organised during the year for people with life-controlling habits.    
  • £900.00 to Safempowerment towards running workshops in schools for the ‘Keeping safe on our streets’ project.          
  • £1,000.00 to Steppin Out Academy of Performance towards costumes for the team to represent England in the Dance World Cup.         
  • £1,000.00 to Stars Vulnerable Children towards the opportunity to go to Paris to go to Paris to compete in a football tournament at PSG’s ground.          

The total donated from both these panels is £14,902 meaning an overall total since the fund started of £202,155.67 has been given to worthy causes!
