The latest batch of Cherries Community Fund donations distributed

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Recipients of the latest batch of Cherries Community Fund donations were recently welcomed to Vitality Stadium for their large cheque presentation photo taken in the home dressing room.

AFC Bournemouth's popular half-time Cherries Community Draw gives supporters the chance to win cash prizes while helping the local community through the Cherries Community Fund.

The CCF now welcomes applications for donations which will continue across the year, with several worthy causes benefiting from the fund since it started in January 2016 and a total of £235,808 given to worthy causes since then.

The money raised for the fund comes from the draw tickets sold on matchday at Vitality Stadium, as well as from the matchday auctions in the hospitality suites.

The CCF has helped a wide variety of projects in the local area, including helping several local charities support young people with outdoor activities, local schools purchasing specialist equipment, a variety of community projects including a live nativity and helping children and adults with learning difficulties, as well as donations to help sustain various support groups and helping families and dog owners with food hampers across Bournemouth.

The excellent work and charitable donations will continue throughout the 2023/24 campaign as the panel will meet quarterly in 2024 and panels are scheduled in March, June, September, and December to distribute more funds back into the local community.

The next panel meeting will be later this month, so applications received ahead of then will be reviewed at this panel. Applications are still welcomed after this date for the subsequent panel meetings.
